The DR receives five gold medals and four bronze medals Table Tennis Championship
The Dominican Republic received five gold medals and four bronze medals in the teams’ modality during the first part of the “II Campeonato Centroamericano y del Caribe de Cadetes y Menos Edades de Tenis de Mesa” (II Central American and Caribbean Junior and Under Ages Table Tennis Championship). The Championship which started yesterday at the Parque del Este, is dedicated to the Secretary of Athletics, Felipe Payano.
In the -10 female-category, Karla Brito, Raquel Pichardo and Kirsy de Jesús Díaz defeated the Dominican B team with a 3-1 score.
In the -13 female-category, Eva Brito and Arisleyda Rodríguez won 3-1 against the Puerto Rican team and conquered the gold medal. On the other hand, David and Issac Vila defeated the Puerto Rican team 3-1 at the final round to be declared champions in the male 13 years old category.
Samuel Galvez and Eury Peguero conquered the gold medal in the -13 male category after defeating the Salvador A team. The tournament brings together athletes from Barbados, Curacao, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, San Vicente, El Salvador, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana and the Dominican Republic.
The A and B Dominican teams who won bronze medals were in the -10 years old male category, -15 years old male category and the B team in the -13 female-category.
