The Dominican American National Roundtable Launched Corporate Advisory Council The Dominican American National Roundtable (DANR) announced the launch of the DANR’s Corporate Advisory Council (CAC) during its 10th Anniversary National Conference held this weekend in Miami, Florida. The mission of the CAC is to build strong collaborations with corporations and government agencies in order to develop programs and initiatives responsive to the needs of the growing Dominican American community, and that are in-line with principles of corporate social responsibility. The CAC will bring together a cadre of Fortune 500 corporations and government agencies that seek to better understand and serve the Dominican American community. The DANR has named Virgil Griffin of Freddie Mac as the Corporate Chairman of the CAC for the 2008-2009 fiscal year. Additionally, the DANR named Cid Wilson, former President of the DANR, as the CAC Co-Chairman and Alejandra Y. Castillo as CAC Vice Chairwoman. “The DANR Corporate Advisory Council will provide a unique opportunity to develop strategic alliances with corporate America, and help design programs that will better reach our community’s need” said Victor Capellan, President of the DANR. “I would like to thank Virgil Griffin for accepting the role as Corporate Chairman of the DANR Corporate Advisory Council.” “It was an exciting gathering to have convened in Miami, Florida, the same location where DANR was first created ten years ago, and to have the opportunity to discuss the blueprint that will guide the Dominican American community during the next 10 years of DANR’s presence at the national stage.” said Alejandra Y. Castillo, Vice Chairwomen of CAC. “The CAC will continue to develop strategic alliances with our corporate and government partners to help DANR in its continued work to educate, serve and advocate on behalf of all Dominican Americans,” concluded Ms. Castillo.
