DANR 6th Annual “Dominicans On The Hill Day” To Commence On May 14 In Our Nation’s Capital

The Dominican American National Roundtable (DANR) is pleased to announce its agenda for its 6th Annual “Dominicans On The Hill Day” in Washington, DC. Dominicans On The Hill Day is an opportunity for members of the community to interact face-to-face with member of the United States Congress as well as administration leadership.


“We will be advocating with members of Congress about the importance of comprehensive immigration reform, support for improved education for our youth including higher education, access to healthcare…”


“We will be advocating with members of Congress about the importance of comprehensive immigration reform, support for improved education for our youth including higher education, access to healthcare, civil rights legislation, and economic opportunities for our community,” said Victor Capellan, National President of the DANR. “Additionally, we will be calling on members of Congress to support DANR’s advocacy before the United States Census to assure that all Dominican Americans are properly counted in 2010 so that the massive undercount of the 2000 Census is not repeated.”

The DANR 6th Annual “Dominicans On The Hill Day” will begin with a breakfast at 8:30AM in the Rayburn House Office Building Room #B-318. Afterwards, the delegation will spend a full day meeting throughout Capitol Hill with members of Congress. Dominicans On The Hill Day will conclude with an evening reception at the Russell Senate Office Building Room #B-385.

About the DANR

Established in 1997, The Dominican American National Roundtable is a non-profit and non-partisan organization whose mission is to advocate for the empowerment of Dominicans in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Territories. Based in Washington, DC, the DANR is the first and only national organization advocating on behalf of the over one million Dominican Americans in areas concerning education, health, economic development, immigration, and civic empowerment at the national level. The DANR National Conference is the only conference in the United States that brings together Dominicans from around the country under one roof for the purpose of community empowerment.
