The Dominican Republic to Compete in the Latin American Athletic Championships

The Dominican Republic is hoping its athletes will win a trophy at the Latin American Athletic Championships that begin this Friday in Iquique, Chile. 

“We have great expectations for the 440 relay team, Tyron Reyes running the 800 meter race and Kelvin Herrera in the 400 meter,”

The Dominican team is made up of runners Juan Carlos Peguero, Herrera, Ramón Frías, Gustavo Cuesta and Yoel Hernández who make up the 440 meter relay team and the 440 meter race. High jumper Eddy Florián is also part of the team.

Of the group, Cuesta and Hernández will also run the 200 meter race, Frías will do the 400 meter and Peguero will run the 100 meter dash.

“We have great expectations for the 440 relay team, Tyron Reyes running the 800 meter race and Kelvin Herrera in the 400 meter,” José Rubio, President of the Dominican Federation of Athletic Associations (FDAA) told a news agency.
