The National Training System Must Respond to the Needs of the Productive Sector Executive director of the National Competitiveness Council (CNC) Andrés van der Horst Álvarez, proposed the establishment of the National Training Sector that would respond to the needs of the modern productive sector which requires “a new vision of the process, of the institutions and the educational structures.” To implement this process, a system has been established to improve business and labor competitiveness through productive training… Van der Horst Álvarez said that to achieve this system it would be necessary to radically change the content and strategy of the education and training process such as facilitating access to these training and education opportunities and to integrate the transfer of technology into the training process, according to CNC sources. To implement this process, a system has been established to improve business and labor competitiveness through productive training as well as to develop linking strategies with technological, environmental, administrative and operative management. These considerations were cited within the framework of the “Competitive Challenges of Dominican Businesses beyond DR-CAFTA,” which took place at the breakfast meeting of the Pontifical Catholic University of Madre and Maestra with human resources directors from various Dominican companies. The theme of the meeting was: Education and Competitiveness. The activity was carried out in coordination of the Dominican Association of Human Resources Administrators. The Vice-Rector of the Postgraduate Department of the academy presented offers to do the training in areas of specialization, Post-Grads and Masters, so that businesses can support the directives in this continuing education. Van der Horst Álvarez added that Dominican companies should implement a human resources strategy that allows for effective change in its organizations which the central process of personnel management can adopt as a way of achieving a successful implementation. He made clear that “no matter what strategy the company chooses, its success will depend on whether they correctly choose their employees, encourage their talent and orient them toward achieving their objectives.” | ||
