José Frank Rosario’s Complete Book of Poetry Launched: Between Dust and Ashes The Dominican Minister of Culture, through the Office of Books and Reading , will launch José Frank Rosario’s Complete Book of Poetry titled Between Dust and Ashes. The book presentation is part of its publishing commitment to Dominican writers. With this book of poetry, the Ministry of Culture is promoting and distributing this great writer’s work. The activity will take place on August 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the Ramón Oviedo Hall of the Ministry of Culture. José Rafael Lantigua, Minister of Culture, will present the book for which he himself wrote the prologue. With this complete collection of José Frank Rosario’s poetry, the Ministry of Culture hopes to rescue the work of this famous poet and storyteller from Moca who has lived for several years outside the country. During the 1960s and 70s, Rosario was a priest and a cultural activist in his native town. Currently Rosario belongs to the Interior Movement, founded and directed by Moca native Bruno Rosario Candelier. Frank Rosario’s complete book of poetry is an expression of mystical poetic themes whose lyrics possess metaphysical and ascetic overtones in the western literary tradition of San Juan de la Cruz, Sor Juana Inés and Fray Luis de Léon. With this book of poetry, the Ministry of Culture is promoting and distributing this great writer’s work. José Frank Rosario is also a researcher, educator and academic whose work, up until now, has been known only by certain literary and cultural circles.
