President To Participate in Regional Summit Next Week in Brazil

Dominican President Leonel Fernández will travel to Brazil to participate in a regional summit where participants will analyze the current global economic crisis. The meeting, scheduled for December 15-17, will be held in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil.

Rafael Núñez, Director of the President´s Office of Information, Press and Publicity, said the Dominican Head of State will be taking with him a proposal drawn up recently in a regional seminar held in the DR in which world-renowned economists participated.

Mr. Núñez said the theme and goal of the summit will involve adopting strategies for a universal approach among Latin Americans on how to face the global economic crisis which is impacting everyone.
