Profile of Internet Users in the Dominican Republic
The National Office of Statistics (ONE) regularly emits bulletins containing statistics on various topics. Each of these contains a report about the key audiences of the National Statistics System of the Dominican Republic and provides details on the latest news and happenings inside the institution.
On this occasion, the Monthly Statistical Panorama Bulletin published the Profile of Internet Users in the Dominican Republic. According to the United Nations (UN): Offering Internet connectivity in the developing world helps to cement health, education and employment goals and helps to reduce poverty. Toward the end of 2006, 1.2 billion people had Internet connection, representing a bit more than 18% of the world’s population.
