Finnish President,Tarja Kaarina Halonen, at second meeting of the Panel of Eminent Persons at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), met with Dominican First Lady wherein they discussed education and the possibility of signing an agreement in which Finland would support different initiatives related to the area of training.


In view of Margarita Cedeño de Fernández’s leadership on issues related to women in business, economy and female entrepreneurship, she was invited to participate in the XIII UNCTAD Conference to be held in Doha, Qatar April 21-26, 2012.


In view of Margarita Cedeño de Fernández’s leadership on issues related to women in business, economy and female entrepreneurship, she was invited to participate in the XIII UNCTAD Conference to be held in Doha, Qatar April 21-26, 2012.


As First Lady, Cedeño de Fernández has dealt with these issues in many different conferences where she has been invited. The most recent was the Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC) where she was the special guest.


The President of Finland presides over the Panel of Eminent Persons of the UNCTAD, along with Jagdish Bhagwati, Economics Professor at Columbia University.


The second meeting of the Panel of Eminent Persons of the UNCTAD was held on December 2 & 3 in Geneva, Switzerland.
