The first place winner receives a cash prize of $50,000. De Leon´s script, a comedy, competed with some 4,000 others from around the world. The screenplay tells the story of Albert Finn, a shop owner who realizes everyone thinks he is a womanizer. He decides to change this image by resorting to his childhood dream of becoming a writer. In the beginning, he is lacking in inspiration until he meets Anna, the woman of his dreams and a sophisticated graduate of Princeton University. She inspires him to write a book about how to find the perfect woman and become a perfect family man. Well-known writer and editor, Mr. Gasmer, finds this topic boring and silly and challenges Albert to write a book about why men cheat. Gasmer gives Albert a year to finish the book. Albert, having been taken on by a well-known editor, feels he must accept the challenge which he sees as an opportunity to show his talent and to gain the respect he seeks. He does not realize, however, how this topic will put his own marriage at risk. | ||
