The agreement will oversee the creation of a program of business-oriented seminars, workshops, courses and degrees that will be exclusively offered to these students. The training sessions can be integrated into the university’s degree program in Science, Economics and Business. The agreement was signed by Banco President, Mark Silverman, and UNAPEC Rector, Justo Pedro Castellanos, at the Rectory Office. The agreement will be in effect for two years. Mr. Silverman said the agreement is of great importance for Banco del Progreso, because for several years they have hired bright young people as an important element in upholding the new business dynamic the bank is promoting. “This agreement we are signing today is a demonstration of the synergy we can create between universities and businesses in this competitive market in the world of business. This will be a win-win relationship in which we offer UNAPEC students a space for professional growth and, at the same time, the Bank will support their business training,” said Mr. Silverman. For his part, Rector Justo Pedro Castellanos, praised the positive way the alliance with Banco del Progreso seeks to guarantee the expansion of the labor force for students as well as university graduates. “The agreement positively impacts our mission to form creative and enterprising business leaders. We thank the Banco del Progreso for the confidence they have placed in UNAPEC and in their interest to combine efforts and contribute to make positive changes in education in the areas of banking and finance,” added Rector Castellanos. The bank will organize conferences on the UNAPEC campus to instruct students on business and finance issues. The agreement stipulates that Banco del Progreso’s program will only accept UNAPEC student interns who have completed 75% of the necessary credits toward their university degree. This initiative seeks to promote the intellectual and professional development of the interns. The internships will last a total of 180 hours.
