Air Caraïbes and Dominican Press Meet in France Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic 2/26/2012
Last week in Paris, executives of Air Caraïbes presented their expansion plans and projects they intend to undertake in the Dominican Republic, expressing their faith in the DR as a destination visited by more than a million European tourists a year.
Los ejecutivos externaron los planes de expansión que tiene Air Caraïbes en República Dominicana, y su fe en el destino que mueve más de un millón de turistas europeos al año.
Air Caraïbes Airlines sponsored a press flight to introduce the Dominican press to the high quality services passengers to and from Santo Domingo and Paris’s Orly Sud Airports will be receiving as of March 25th when the trans-continental flights get underway, twice a week, on Fridays and Sundays.
During the trip to Orly, the press met with Air Caraïbes president, Marc Rochet; vice president of the airline’s business department, Francois Bonnet and president of Lions & Lions advertising agency, Jean Louis Lions.
The executives told the reporters about Air Caraïbes expansion plans in the Dominican Republic and about their faith that the DR will continue to be an attractive tourist spot as it now enjoys visits from over one million European tourists annually.
Marc Rochet said that before he retires, his goal is to see the Dominican Republic with its own airline company providing quality service.
The effectiveness of the airline company is evident from the fact that out of 2,500 flights, Air Caraïbes was only forced to cancel only 2 because of technical problems.
For this Santo Domingo- Paris connection, Air Caraïbes, acquired a new Air Bus A330-300, which can accommodate 335 people. Those on the press trip had the chance to experience the flight on this new plane; they got to know each one of the travel classes including the captain’s cabin.
The Dominican press experienced the excellent service and comfort on this trans-Atlantic flight.
Madras (Executive class) and Caribe (Regular Premium) made the flight from Santo Domingo to Paris seem short as passengers flew in total comfort.
The service made the passengers feel at home and, many said, the long flight felt far shorter as a result of the constant amenities served by the hostesses who did their jobs cheerfully and with warm smiles in their faces.
The meeting of reporters and Air Caraïbes executives also served to promote the French capital of Paris as a tourist destination where one can visit the city’s museums, monuments and charm.
The trip to Paris for the Dominican press included a visit to the Louvre, where they saw great works of art in what is considered one of the most important museums in the world, for its historical and cultural value.
The Eiffel Tower, a must for anyone’s trip to France, is the international symbol of Paris and one of the most recognizable monuments in the world.
The guided tour of the so-called City of Love included a strill down the Champs Elysées and the fashionable Avenue Montaigne as well as Paris’s bohemian neighborhood of Montmartre. They also visited the Aerospace Museum and the Grévin Wax Museum.
Lunch on a Parisian boat that took them up and down the River Seine for 2 hours was a sublime detail of their trip. However, the special touch came with a show at the Lido Theater, the famous French cabaret with its magnificent costumes, scenery, drama and dance.
