The library of the Museum of Modern Art was open to the public for the first time on October 9, 1980.

The Association of Friends of the Museum of Modern Art (MAM) invites to the event “Contribute a book of art to the library of the MAM“, which will take place on Saturday, October 13, starting at 11:00 a.m.

The Association of Friends of the Museum of Modern Art (MAM) invites to the event “Contribute a book of art to the library of the MAM“, which will take place on Saturday, October 13, starting at 11:00 a.m.

This event will be held in the basement of the Museum, where attendees will be able to enjoy music, art exhibitions, library booths, a toast, raffles and a great atmosphere for the entire family.

The Association of Friends of the Museum is a nonprofit organization, where distinguished personalities of Dominican society contribute their time and enthusiasm and join efforts so that the Museum of Modern Art becomes an open window forthe rescue, enjoyment and dissemination of national and international art.

The objective of the Museum of Modern Art is the conservation, appreciation, study and dissemination of the works that make up its Collection and the display of modern and contemporary as well as national and international works of art, and the education of the public in relation to its Collection and exhibits.

The library of the Museum specializes in visual arts and it is aimed at students, artists and researchers. Thelibrary collection has been catalogued to meet the demands of its users in all disciplines and art forms, which range from the most traditional to the most contemporary, projecting the image of the Museum as a center for research.

For three decades the library of the MAM has offered its services to a wide audience of the surrounding universities: UNIBE, APEC, UTESAand UASD. The hours of attention to the public are: Tuesdaysthrough Sundays, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The Dominican RepublicMuseum of Modern Art is located on Avenida Pedro Henríquez Ureña, Plaza de la Cultura Juan Pablo Duarte, and is open to the public Tuesdays through Sundays, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
