Minister of Labor Assumes Presidency of Construction Workers Pension Funds Council

Maritza Hernández, Minister of Labor, evaluated the contributions made by the Construction Workers Pension Funds (FOPETCONS in Spanish) to the Dominican Social Security System through their annual contributions.

Minister Hernández swore in Luis Francisco Regalado as her alternate to preside over the regular work of the Ministry in her absence.

In assuming the presidency of the Technical Council of the Administration and Control of FOPETCONS, Dr. Maritza Hernández, who defines herself as fully aware of the needs of construction workers as a result of her previous job that was linked to this sector of the national economy.

Hernández explained that she preferred to take a tour of all the Councils headed by they Ministry of Labor, with the goal of doing something that has never been done: to make certain that each of them function in a totally transparent fashion and are honestly working for the sectors they represent.

Minister Hernández swore in Luis Francisco Regalado as her alternate to preside over the regular work of the Ministry in her absence.

At her first work session, Hernández recommended to the members of the Social Assistance Commission and members of the Technical Council and Administration of FOPETCONS that she should not delay any application from workers that has to do with ill health in order to avoid any bureaucracy that would delay their care.
