AECID CELEBRATES 25 YEARS OF PRESENCE IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC T he Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID – Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo), created the same year that it began operating in the Dominican Republic, will celebrate its 25 years of work in all areas of development, with a variety of events. “The Odd Couple” will be presented in the Aida Bonnelly hall of the National Theater, on September 17 and 18, at 8:00 pm. Also on October 10, the CCESD (Cultural Center of Spain in Santo Domingo) will open the exhibition “25 years of cooperation: Spain / Dominican Republic” which aims to showcase AECID’s work over the past 25 years in areas as diverse as rural development and the fight against hunger, education, water and sanitation, democratic governance and environmental sustainability, and respect for cultural diversity, among others. In addition, the audiovisual report “25 years of experience” will also be presented on October 10. It tells the story, from the view point of the beneficiaries, of the importance of AECID’s activities in improving their living conditions. AECID, represented in the Dominican Republic by the Technical Cooperation Office and the Cultural Center of Spain, celebrates 25 years of collaborative effort, and invites the entire Dominican community to join in this great celebration and in the program of activities that it will be carrying out on this occasion. |
