The creativity and ingenuity of renowned Dominican designer Marisol Henríquez, continues to surprise with her new collection for the Fall 2014 called “Retro Texturas” (Retro Textures), a production created especially for Couture Fashion Week and to be held from February 14th to 16th, 2014 at the New Yorker Hotel in New York. This is the third time that she participates in this event.

Marisol’s Fall 2014 collection reflects a profound understanding of the textures that she has shaped over time, turning them into extraordinary pieces for women who are knowledgeable of the clothing’s intrinsic value. The designer collects rich and different textures which she puts together in a colorful, harmonious, and contrasting combination that results in romantic, tight fitting, deep neckline cuts, and complex structures of great creative impact.

The designs of the “Retro Texturas By Marisol Henríquez” collection take us back to the past, a past full of romance and femininity. Tight and transparent bustiers, pleats, plaids, fullness, craft flower bows, buttons, snaps, ribbons, and sustaches create this lushly feminine universe, inspired by the golden era of the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Boleros; dresses; bustiers; pleated, straight, type A, princess-cut, and mermaid-type skirts; romantic blouses; pants; jackets; belts, and bags of the Marysun line, are part of the sophisticated genres Marisol manipulates with meaningful subtlety.

“Retro Texturas” transports us to a feminine dream world with much “charm”, where lace, silk, organza, sharmous, gazares, metallic fabrics, and tejamaní, a creation of the designer, become strong collection pieces.
