Carlos Jiménez Ruiz Honored for his Contributions to Sports Tourism

Bávaro-Punta Cana, September 18, 2019 – Because of his tremendous contributions to the development of sports tourism in the eastern region of Bávaro-Punta Cana – the country’s most important tourism enclave – the Organizing Committee of the Fifth Annual Norceca Beach Volleyball recognized Carlos Jiménez Ruiz, development director for the Caribbean of the Lopesan Hotels Group.

The award was presented by Norceca president Mr. Cristóbal Marte, Ramón A. García, president of Fedovoli, Ernesto Veloz, president of the Organizing Committee and Asoleste, and the general coordinator and president of AA Marketing Sports Event, Amos Anglade.

Ernesto Veloz highlighted the career of Jiménez Ruiz and the efforts he has carried out to strengthen sports activities in the region. Thanks to his efforts, many sports activities have complemented the tourism offer in the Bávaro-Punta Cana District.

At the same time Amós Anglade, general coordinator of the tournament and president of AA Marketing Sports Event, also explained the importance of having individuals like Carlos Jiménez working to support such important activities.

The director of development for the Caribbean region of the Lopesan Hotels Group thanked all those present for the award, and reiterated his commitment to continue working for the benefit of all sports activities held in this important tourism region.

“I truly appreciate this award, and to see that each day we are bringing in more people and organizing events such as this one. We should all be proud of what we have achieved. It will always be an honor to contribute with the development of sports activities in this region,” stated Jiménez Ruiz.

V Narcea Beach Volleyball Tournament

The competition took place between September 13-15 in the strikingly beautiful beaches of Bávaro. Participating teams included the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Curacao, Guatemala, U.S. Virgin Islands, Nicaragua, Bahamas, Martinique, Trinidad and Tobago, among other nations.
