Television Program “MasterChef” Debuts in the D.R. with “Flavors of the Caribbean”

Santo Domingo, April 4, 2018 – On Tuesday, Endemol Shine and Alton River officially presented their internationally renowned television MasterChef and what will be its first program dedicated to the Caribbean. The first program will be titled MASTERCHEF Dominican Republic: “Flavors of the Caribbean.”

Some 250 invitees gathered at the Hard Rock Live in Santo Domingo to learn all about this important upcoming production.

After a 27-year successful run, the reality show – seen in more than 50 countries and in some 200 territories – announced that it will now be the turn of the Dominican Republic to become the center of its international audience. This will be the program’s first production in the Caribbean.

The local company in charge of production is the “007 Media Group,” which has built a special 17,700 square foot set for the special production. It is by far the largest set of its kind in Central America and the Caribbean. The infrastructure and production set will place the Dominican Republic in the forefront of continental and global television production.

The program hostess will be Dominican actress Mildred Quiroz, who has worked internationally in various productions. The members of the jury will be renowned chefs Saverio Stassi, “La Chef Tita” and Leandro Díaz, with special appearances by chefs Martin Omar and Katherine Lemoine. The production team also announced the participation of chef María Marte and a special appearance by top Dominican chef Esperanza Lithgow.

The local television station “Telesistema Canal 11” will be in charge of the local coverage.

Beginning in July, Dominicans will be able to enjoy – on Sundays at 8:00 p.m. – Dominican cooking at its best, revealed Alton River CEO Carlos Cerutti.

Through MasterChef, the Dominican Republic opens the doors to the rest of the Caribbean to an important international audience. The exotic region, as well as the beautiful and natural landscapes will seduce the planet, and the eyes of the five continents will be placed specifically on our country.
