The multimedia edition of the Dominican Cultural Dictionary, by writer and filmmaker Jimmy Sierra, in cooperation with Reynaldo Disla, Héctor Martínez, Carlos José Peña and León Félix Batista, will soon be available through Funglode’s website.
Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Funglode) and Editorial Funglode, will be enriched with the inputs from the various contributors, who will be able to send their proposed cultural contents with Dominican roots by writing to diccionario@funglode.orgor by filling out the form that is available at http://funglode.org/diccionario.
Sierra and his team will analyze the texts that are received, with the objective of including them in the multimedia version of the dictionary and in a future printed version.
Published in October of last year, the Dominican Cultural Dictionary is an educational and reference work that allows for the easy navigation across the entire Dominican cultural space.
With a foreword by the former president of the Dominican Republic and president of Funglode, Leonel Fernández, the text offers a synthesis of the key biographies and cultural events in the Dominican history.
It is a detailed record that includes 851 personalities, 101 groups, 90 institutions, 33 events, 29 publications and 57 concepts, among others, for a total of 1,164 entries.
