Santo Domingo, February 7, 2020 – “Grupo Rica,” the country’s most important agricultural group, recently launched the book “Rica: 50 años de historia” (Rica: A 50 Year History, unofficial translation) which summarizes the history and legacy of its founder, Dr. Julio Brache. The book is written by renowned Dominican historian Frank Moya Pons.
The ceremony was held in Santo Domingo’s “La Cassina” Restaurant. Invited guests included the company’s top executives, as well as representatives from the country’s social, business, intellectual and political sectors.
The 443-page book tells the history, the success, courage and commitment to hard work of the agricultural Group, an institution that has become a pillar of Dominican society thanks to its commitment and perseverance. The goal of the company has always been to leave an imprint in Dominican society and future generations.
During the launching of the book, Dr. Julio Brache, President Ad Vitam of “Grupo Rica;” Pedro Brache, President of “Grupo Rica” and Frank Moya Pons, historian and author of the book, led a lively discussion on the company’s success and its history.
During the discussion, Pedro Brache explained why the company decided to write the book. At the same time, historian Frank Moya Pons explained the research process he used to write the book. Finally, Dr. Julio Brache spoke of the company’s vision, shared company anecdotes with the public as well as some successful and best practices, as well as some of the difficult experiences the company faced through the years.
“Thanks to my father’s vision, and as a result of the hard work we have carried out as a company through the years, we have become the brand that has supported various generations because of our dedication and tremendous effort,” stated Pedro Brache.
At the same time, Mr. Julio Brache explained that when he began the project he never imagined the impact it would have. “I never imagined that we would be as successful as we have been. But today, “Rica” is a successful company….And we have much to show because since our very beginnings consumers have always trusted the “Rica” brand. And that is where our tremendous courage comes from. We have developed the trust needed with our consumers, because of the quality of our products and our credibility as a Group,” explained Dr. Brache.
It is important to highlight that “Grupo Rica” celebrated its 50th anniversary with a history of success that has been possible due to the company’s social responsibility policies and its relationship with its faithful customers. Today, “Grupo Rica” is a brand that faithfully represents the people of the Dominican Republic.
