Lopesan Costa Bávaro Will Begin Operations During the Summer of 2019

Bávaro, La Altagracia, August 29, 2018  –  The Lopesan Hotel Group announced that its Costa Bávaro Hotel will open next summer.

During the first phase of construction the new all-inclusive hotel will feature 1,035rooms.  During the second phase, an additional 1,500 rooms will be added.  Overall investment in the hotel is US$450 million and will generate jobs for 1,500 employees.

Lopesan Costa Bávaro will be built on 500,000 square meters of beachfront property, and will provide its guests all the amenities the Lopesan Hotel Group, from the Canary Islands, is known for.  Other Lopesan hotels are the Lopesan Costa Meloneras, Lopesan Villa del Conde, and the Lopesan Baobab Resort.

The new facility will feature theme restaurants, a spa, a commercial avenue, casino, disco, and a modern theater that will easily accommodate one thousand guests.

The Lopesan Costa Bávaro Hotel was designed by the U.S. HKS firm, one of the most prestigious in the world.  The structure will feature an underground passageway to facilitate the movement of employees, merchandise and other related operations.

One of its main attractions will be the hotel’s Infinity Pool, which will overlook the nearby beach.  The pool will be designed by the U.S. company EDSA, responsible for the construction of the Lopesan Costa Meloneras swimming pool considered to be one of the most photographed swimming pools of the European continent.

The new hotel facility will be carefully integrated to the natural areas of the Bávaro-Punta Cana region, known for its lush vegetation and world-class beaches.

The Lopesan Group

The Lopesan Group began its activities in 1996 in the Canary Islands, Spain.  In 2004, through its affiliate IFA – a member of the German stock market – it began operations in the Dominican Republic.  Since then it has managed the IFA Villas Bávaro Resort & Spa.

Lopesan is the first tourism-oriented group of the Canary Islands and one of the 10 most important in Spain, offering some 15,000 tourist beds and 20 hotel facilities.  It operates in Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Germany, Austria and the Dominican Republic.

Its main complex is in Meloneras, the island’s most important tourism destination.  This tourism empire is part of a diversified group that impacts three important sectors of the economy: golf courses, Convention Centers and agricultural farms for its hotels.

It currently employs some 4,000 workers and reports profits of 400 Euros annually.
