It was selected to participate in the Day Dreaming shorts section of the New York Latino International Film Festival. The film, which was shot in 4 days in the Dominican neighborhood of Washington Heights in upper Manhattan, New York, was inspired by a theater piece with the same name written by his aunt, the playwright Elizabeth Ovalle. The other inspiration, says Vargas, was the popular Spanish musical called “El otro lado de la cama.” (The Other Side of the Bed). Vargas was the winner of the HBO and NYILFF in 2007 for his short film “Hispaniola.”
