A press release from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology explained that the money will be used to award post graduate scholarships to professionals who apply and who meet the academic requirements and score higher than 80 points on their tests. At the same time, the donation will be used to hire two Taiwanese professors to teach Chinese classes in the state Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) and the local foreign ministry. The professionals selected will be able to choose between Masters and PhD programs in the areas of technology, computer information, medicine, biochemistry, economy, international commerce, banking and marketing, law and comprehensive communication.
