Commission to regulate investigation into disloyal business practices Dominican President Leonel Fernández swore in a Regulatory Commission for Disloyal Business Practices and Safety Measures and Protections. The Regulatory Commission for Disloyal Business Practices and on Measures and Protection of Consumers rights will establish norms and procedures oriented to prevent or correct the damage that can be done in cases having to do with the disloyal national production practices of international commerce. The commission is made up of Máximina Santana, president, and other members which include Mario Pujols, Jean Alain Rodríguez, Hugo Ramírez Risk, and Ivan Ernesto Gatón. The Regulatory Commission for Disloyal Business Practices and on Measures and Protection of Consumers rights will establish norms and procedures oriented to prevent or correct the damage that can be done in cases having to do with the disloyal national production practices of international commerce. As such, it will proceed to adopt pertinent temporary measures in the wake of increased amounts of export being carried out in conditions that cause or threaten to cause serious damage to national producers of similar products. Law 1-02 indicates that they will be able to establish safety measures when imports of a certain product increases in such quantity and when the conditions are such that can cause or threaten to cause grave damage to one of the areas of national production that is related in some way or is directly competitive. The Regulatory Commission for Disloyal Business Practices and Safety Measures and Protections is the government entity solely responsible for the application of this regulation and is also responsible for carrying out any investigations related to these disloyal business practices and to determine the application of compensatory rights, anti-dumping and applicable safety measures thus conferred upon the government through Law 1-02.
