New Ambassadors from Venezuela and Belgium Present Their Credentials Dominican President Leonel Fernández received the letters of credentials from the new Ambassadors to the Dominican Republic from Venezuela and Belgium on Friday. President Fernández welcomed Aura Mahuampi Rodríguez de Ortíz, the new Ambassador from Venezuela who is replacing Belisario Landis – and Meurice Fréderic, the incoming Ambassador from Belgium. In the short ceremony, held at the Ambassadors Hall of the National Palace, President Fernández welcomed Aura Mahuampi Rodríguez de Ortíz, the new Ambassador from Venezuela who is replacing Belisario Landis – and Meurice Fréderic, the incoming Ambassador from Belgium. Aura Mahuampi Rodríguez from Venezuela, is a graduate of International Studies with a specialty in Border Issues, according to the President’s Office of Information, Press and Publicity. In addition to being a professor in Political Science, she has held other education functions and has been the chief of the President’s Protocol Office and Minister of the President’s Administration Office of the Republic of Venezuela, a post she held in 1999. Her Belgian counterpart, Meurice Fréderic, has held important diplomatic posts for his country in other nations. He is part of the third-tier administrative section in the Belgian diplomatic service since 2007. Other government officials at the presentation ceremony included Dominican Vice President Rafael Alburquerque, and Foreign Minister Carlos Morales Troncoso.
