Youth Orchestra of the Americas selects a young man for European Tour The National Music Conservatory has been honored by the selection of Jorge Vidura Solano Nivar, advanced violoncello student, to represent the country participating in the YOUTH ORCHESTRA OF THE AMERICAS EUROPEAN TOUR (OJA). Mr. Vidura Solano Nivar will be part of an orchestra composed of 107 recipients of the “America” scholarships. During the European Tour, the chosen participants will receive daily training in their corresponding instruments by important American and European musicians. Likewise, the orchestra will be directed by outstanding conductors such as Miguel Prieto, David Robert Coleman, Isaac Karabtchevsky and Benjamín Zande. The pianist Gabriela Montero and the violinist Edmundo Ramírez will also participate as guest artists. The student Jorge V. Solano Nivar attends this institution with Professor Slobodan Veijkovic and performs as the principle violoncello at the Conservatory’s Juan Pablo Duarte Symphony Orchestra. From a young age he demonstrated talent in arts showing it especially in music. He has always been incentivized and supported by his parents who never doubted of his true vocation. | ||
