Spanish Chamber of Commerce Presents Guide to Business in Central America and the DR

The Spanish Chamber of Congress and Industry in the Dominican Republic presented its Guide to Business in Central American and the Dominican Republic , an informational tool outlining commerce and investment in the region.

The Business Guide was jointly put together by several organizations that make up the Regional Council of Spanish Chambers of Commerce from Guatemala , Honduras , El Salvador , Nicaragua , Costa Rica , Panama and the Dominic Republic.

The launch of the new book took place at the headquarters of the Spanish Chamber, located in the Biltmore I Professional Tower on Abraham Lincoln Avenue . Speeches were given by the Chamber’s honorary president and President of the Board of Directors, Ambassador Bermejo and Manuel García Arévalo, respectively.

Others present included Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) representative Manuel Labrado, diplomatic delegations from Central America functioning in the DR and national and international business people and special guests.

The Business Guide was jointly put together by several organizations that make up the Regional Council of Spanish Chambers of Commerce from Guatemala , Honduras , El Salvador , Nicaragua , Costa Rica , Panama and the Dominic Republic.

For over forty years, these Chambers have worked together with the Regional Chamber of Commerce combining their efforts to carry out joint activities and proposals that benefit Spanish companies as well as domestic businesses with links to the Spanish Chambers of Commerce.

Support for publication of the book came from various organizations including the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) which facilitated statistical information, Spain ’s Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce and the Santillana Publishing Company.

It is expected that the guide will be permanently updated and available for sale in any Spanish Chamber of Commerce office that participated in its creation.

Included with the book is an interactive CD that contains a list of member companies in each country’s Chamber of Commerce, allowing business people from around the region to get to know each other and have access to important information.
