Anthony Ocaña releases album
Anthony Ocaña, Dominican composer and guitar player, now living in Madrid, presents his second musical offering, this time as a solo artist. It is a very intimate album, where the acoustic guitar tracks include ten songs composed by him, and a sublime version of “Al Alba”, a cover of the song by Luis Eduardo Aute.
Anthony Ocaña manages to penetrate deep into our hidden emotions with his music, to move us and to draw out our innermost feelings. He is sometime accompanied by the likes of Guarionex Aquino, Isidro Bobadilla, Esar Simó and Sebastián Lerner. As a feature artist on the track “Sálvame” he has invited Maridalia Hernández to make a guest appearance.
After completing his musical studies in New York, he developed a successful career in composition as well as guitar playing. His music has received prestigious awards such as the Francisco Tarrega award, the Sr. Josephine Morgan Award and the Casa de Teatro award.
He has shared the stage with the likes of Egberto Gismonti and Gonzalo Rubalcaba, among others.
He produced his first album in collaboration with the pianist Sebastián Lerner, which was entitled “A paso de cebra”. |
