Concentration of People all Over Latin America will Join in a Mass Meditation on October 12 For the first time in history, this October 12th will be commemorated as thousands of people from 20 cities all around Latin America gather together to meditate simultaneously for world peace, according to organizers of the event. ..The Art of Living Foundation organized the largest mass meditation gathering in history in Bangalore, India where the foundation is based. On this occasion, 2.5 million people gathered from around the world to meditate. The mass meditation will take place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in the Mirador South Park, Anacona Avenue with Privada, at 4:00 in the afternoon. The event is free and open to the public. Trained instructors will be in charge of directing the meditation. There will be figures from the world of art and culture attending the event which will end with a concert provided by specially invited musicians. Meditation will take place in the following capitals and cities: Montevideo, La Paz, Santiago de Chile, Rio de Janeiro, San Pablo, Lima, Asunción, Quito, Buenos Aires, Caracas, Bogotá, Paramaribo, (Surinam) , Georgetown (Guyana), San Juan de Puerto Rico, San José de Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico DF, New York and Montreal will also meditate at the same time. This is the first time that America has experimented with a mass meditation of this type. In 2006, the Art of Living Foundation organized the largest mass meditation gathering in history in Bangalore, India where the foundation is based. On this occasion, 2.5 million people gathered from around the world to meditate. Numerous studies have demonstrated the positive effects of meditation on crime levels and aggressiveness. “America Meditates” is a proposal of the Art of Living Foundation to reduce violence and to build a society free of stress, where peace can take hold.
