More Than Sixty Dominican Journalists Take Part in Communications Seminar in Washington D.C. More than 60 journalists from different Dominican media organizations participated in a seminar held last week at George Washington University. The seminar was about Communications Strategies, Building of Government Image and Crisis Management. The Ministry of Youth sponsored the seminar. “This field plays an important role for our country and, from my position, I am going to contribute to strengthening it,” Franklin Rodríguez, Minister of Youth, said the meeting was the result of an agreement between his ministry and George Washington University, signed last February. From then until now, hundreds of young Dominicans, members of different organizations and sectors in the DR, have participated in different programs, according to the President’s Office of Information, Press and Publicity. Rodríguez, who accompanied the journalists to the seminar, said new challenges worldwide call for well-trained reporters and journalists. “This field plays an important role for our country and, from my position, I am going to contribute to strengthening it,” said the Minister of Youth. He explained that his ministry carries out a series of training programs with other international academic centers in Latin America and Europe. Mr. Rodríguez was accompanied to Washington D.C. by the Deputy Minister for Youth, José Feliz and Program Director, Luis Díaz.
