About Katherine Taylor

Katherine Taylor is a Boston-based photographer especilizing in photojournalism, portraiture, and events. A graduate of Boston University’s Center for Digital Imaging Arts, Taylor hs worked as a freelance photojournalist for The New York Times an The Boston Phoenix. She travels frequently to the Dominican Republic and has developed a strong interest in the people, culture and dramatic landscape of the country’s ecosystems. In 2010, she collaborated with a sponsored research project in the western part of the island undertaken by The Grove School of Engineering at The City College of New York, examining the environnental impact of the expansion of Lake Enriquillo.

About CUNI DSI Gallery

The CUNI Dominican Studies Institute Gallery (CUNI DSI Gallery), housed in the multipurpose room of the Institute’s Archives and Library facility at The City College of New York, is the only exhibit space in New York City devoted exclusively to works of art by and about people of Dominican descent. The Gallery celebrates and showcases artists who have a unique perspecrive on the Dominican experience.
