Education Ministry Offers 400 Scholarships to Study Education The Ministry of Education, through the National Institute for the Training and Preparation of Teachers (INAFOCAM), announced the availability of 400 scholarships on offer this year to college graduates with majors in other areas who wish to get into teaching in the Dominican school system. The biographical collection, coordinated by historian Bernardo Vega, contains 26 books and is comprised mainly of books that were published outside the country, in exile, and were never seen or circulated here in the DR… Through the Teacher Training Program, coordinated by INAFOCAM at Dominican universities, professionals in areas other than education can take these courses and receive a teaching certificate which will accredit them as teachers. In addition to those professionals already working as teachers, it is of interest to the education authorities to be able to attract graduates from other fields to work in the various areas where teachers are needed in the Dominican public schools. Professionals in the areas of health, engineering, natural sciences (chemistry and physics), computer information or any other area with a vocation for teaching are welcome to apply to their district or regional education offices and to get more information on how to be included in the pre-selection process, which open in the coming days. The Teacher Training Program lasts for approximately one year. To obtain the certificate requires the completion of a total of 28 credit hours. | ||
