President Fernández Welcomes Former Colombian President Álvaro Uribe

President Leonel Fernández received a courtesy visit from the former President of Colombia, Álvaro Uribe Vélez. The meeting took place in the Ambassadors Hall, on the third floor of the National Palace. The former Colombian President arrived at 4:30 in the afternoon and was accompanied by the Congressman and reformist leader Ramón Rogelio Genao from La Vega, and other officials who were immediately ushered into the dining room where they were served lunch.

The ex-president of Colombia, Álvaro Uribe Vélez, came to the Dominican Republic to give a conference to business-owners in Santiago de los Caballeros.

The commission that accompanied President Fernández in welcoming Uribe Vélez included Minister of the Presidency, César Pina Toribio; the Minister of Economy, Planning and Development, Juan Temistocles Montás; the Minister of Foreign Relations, Carlos Morales Troncoso and Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Luis Manuel Bonetti, in addition to José Joaquín Bidó Medina and Marino Vinicio Castillo.

The ex-president of Colombia, Álvaro Uribe Vélez, came to the Dominican Republic to give a conference to business-owners in Santiago de los Caballeros. The conference was organized by the Corporation of Industrial Duty Free Zones, the Association of Industrial Merchants of Santiago, the Chamber of Commerce and Production, the Northern Industrial Association and the Council for Strategic Development of Santiago.
