Headway Being Made in Plans to Recuperate Lost School Hours The Ministry of Education (MINERD in Spanish) reported that plans for the recuperation of lost school hours are moving forward according to the calendar established by each one of the school districts that have reported a loss of classes. The districts that have not reported their recovery plans had less than 10 percent lost school days, according to MINERD’s Communications and Public Relations Department. According to a report, done by MINERD’s General Office of Supervision, a total of 47 school districts have fulfilled their teaching plans to recover days lost in the school calendar. Twelve districts reported their conclusion and 22 are still in the process of validating their reports. The districts that have not reported their recovery plans had less than 10 percent lost school days, according to MINERD’s Communications and Public Relations Department. Resolution 172-2011 reiterates that the deadline for closure of the academic school year is Friday June 24, with the exception of those schools and districts that, because of lost school days, have not fulfilled the established requirement in their academic calendar and therefore have not completed the subject matter for which they are responsible. Education Minister, Josefina Pimentel, issued instructions and a schedule to be used to make up class time in the last trimester and end of the 2010-2011 academic year. | ||
