Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo 06/22/2011

With the goal of promoting within the Spanish market, tourism areas Punta Cana and Bayahíbe along with Orizonia and the Office of Tourism Promotion of the Dominican Republic have reached an agreement.

The campaign, preceded by other similar accords between both entities, will be reinforced by mailing news bulletins with information about the country’s tourism destinies to the more than 650,000 registered users in Viajes Iberia’s database.

According to a press release sent from the news desk of arecoa.com, Orizonia, headquartered in Palma de Mallorca and comprised of tour operators such as Iberojet, Solplan, Viva Tours and the wholesale network Viajes Iberia, will actively collaborate with the Dominican government. Orizonia alone brings more than 100,000 tourists annually to the Dominican Republic.

To apply this agreement, a campaign will be developed with the goal of bringing the DR, travel agents and clients into closer contact. Among other promotional activities, it will develop a media strategy using publicity ad inserts for the written press and radio as well as distributing material at points of sale.
