Eleanor Grimaldi Silié , Director of the National Book and Reading Plan, was in charge of delivering the book collection to Richard Gonzalez, owner of the establishment, while she invited those in attendance to be the first beneficiaries of this original initiative. Silié said that this was the first of several reading areas to be opened throughout the country, so that more people can benefit from reading. She also thanked the shop for hosting the first library in the program and added that she expects other businesses to imitate this initiative. Finally, Gonzalez thanked the MINC and stated that the books will be very well taken advantage of. In total, 60 books were donated on various genres (poetry, short stories and novels, etc.), which have been published by various publishing houses of the MINC. | ||
