The Organization of American States opens call for proposals to be included in the portfolio on “The Role of Arts and Communications Media in Education for Democratic Citizenry” The Organization of American States (OAS) Office of Education and Culture invites institutions from the public and private sector and organizations from civil society to present their proposals on initiatives to be included in the portfolio of experiences and promising programs which use art and communications media to promote education for a democratic citizenry among children and youth. Deadline for proposals is November 15, 2011. A selection of public policies, programs and initiatives should be incorporated into the portfolio, which will be disseminated by the Organization of American States as a contribution to the exchange of ideas, information and successful practices and promotion of the horizontal cooperation among OAS Member States. Interested institutions can learn more about the requisites of this call and can download applications to send in proposals according to the corresponding promising initiative for which one wishes to apply. Applications Application 1, corresponds to the sending of proposals related to the use of art to promote the education for a democratic citizenry. Application 2, corresponds to the sending of proposals related to the use of communications media to promote the education for a democratic citizenry.
