This degree course, made available thanks to support from the Madre y Maestra Catholic University (PCUMM), the Internal Tax Office (DGII in Spanish) continues its rigorous academic training of employees who are seeking a Taxation Degree. Civil servants of the DGII are obliged to understand the legal foundation of the tax code and tax laws.
The closing act of this course was held at the main DGII headquarters and was attended by its General Director, Juan Hernández; Germania Montás, Deputy Director for DGII Operations and Technology; Dulce Rodríguez, Assistant Academic Rector of the PCUMM; Pedwar Castillo, Dean of Social and Administrative Sciences at PCUMM and Tania Guenen, Manager of Human Resources at DGII.
This Degree in Taxation began in July of this year and has become the first training course of its kind from the Taxation Training Institute inaugurated this year by the DGII.
In this program, which ran 108 hours and was taught by national and international tax experts, employees of the Internal Tax Office earned a certificate giving them a deep and extensive knowledge of how the tax system functions both in the DR and abroad. They also developed their capacity of analysis with respect to legal and administrative aspects and now to direct and advise on different decisions that are part of their job functions.
