Culture Ministry Ends Year with Series of Christmas Concerts

As part of the Ministry of Culture´s annual Christmas celebration, this year ended with a spectacular series of concerts which included performances by the Dominican Wind Orchestra, the National Ballet, the Orpheum of Santiago and the Cibao Philharmonic Orchestra.

The second, “The Nutcracker Suite” was performed on Friday the 9th by the National Ballet under the direction of Marinella Sallent. The concert was held  on the esplanade of the Ramón Cáceres Museum in Moca.

All together there were six performances offered to the public free of charge, with the backing of the Senate Office, under the direction of Senator Rafael Vargas. Representing the Ministry of Culture was Enegildo Peña, Deputy Minister of Culture for the Northern Region.

EThe first concert was held on December 7th with a performance by the Dominican Wind Orchestra directed by Andrés Vidal and held in Our Lady of the Ascension Church in Jamao Arriba.

The second, “The Nutcracker Suite” was performed on Friday the 9th by the National Ballet under the direction of Marinella Sallent. The concert was held  on the esplanade of the Ramón Cáceres Museum in Moca.

The Orpheum of Santiago, directed by P. César Hilario, took place at Our Lady of Rosario Church in Moca on Wednesday the 14th.  The Dominican Wind Orchestra performed the following day at Our Lady of Carmen Church, Cayetano Germosén. On Saturday the 17^th, a performance was held in Our Lady of Carmen, Gaspar Hernández.

The music series ended on Wednesday December 21st with a Christmas Gala Concert performed by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Cibao, under the direction of Santy Rodríguez and Simón Caesar, in the National Sanctuary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Moca.
