Association of Hotels of Santo Domingo Announces New Board of Directors The Association of Hotels of Santo Domingo (AHSD in Spanish) announced the names of its new Board of Directors for 2012-2014: Eduardo Reple, President; Roberto Henríquez, Vice President; Kurt Tschamper, Treasurer; Aura Núñez de Domínguez, Secretary; Héctor Concari, Odalis Guzmán and Olmedo Herrera as directors and Lina Matos, Executive Director. “The election of this team represents a renewal of the commitment of this Association in terms of internal relations and development of the tourism sector of this city,” “The election of this team represents a renewal of the commitment of this Association in terms of internal relations and development of the tourism sector of this city,” the Association said in a statement. “The Association underscores the need to implement projects directed at rescuing, improving and placing value on the city´s attractive tourism spots so they can be appreciated by visitors who are our most important ambassadors worldwide. In addition, the Association supports actions that reinforce the security, beauty, cleanliness and the organization of the city including its basic conditions and all it has to offer,” continued the statement. The new board of directors seeks the unification of all institutions which play a fundamental role in the tourism sector, such as the Ministry of Tourism, ASONAHORES, the Ministry of Culture, the Town Hall, POLITUR and others. The AHSD will continue working on its institutional strengthening as it trains new members with an emphasis on formality and fulfillment of all legal requirements and norms. It will continue focusing on the different areas of administrative support for hotels through its work committees, which include the following: Human Resources, Statistics, Security, Marketing & Commerce, Environment and Food & Drinks. The Association of Hotels of Santo Domingo is a non-profit institution which brings together the hotel establishment within the Metropolitan area. This institution promotes, defends and develops the best interests and well-being of the hotel industry by analyzing and implementing studies, research and projects aimed at this goal. It directs the collective actions of its members with the goal of promoting the development of tourism in Santo Domingo which benefits the hotel business and will ultimately benefit the Dominican community. |
