National Hip Hop Festival Returns The Second National Hip Hop a la Plaza (Hip Hop to the Plaza) Festival will take place Saturday, January 28 at 6:00 pm in the capital’s Plaza Juan Barón del Malecón of Santo Domingo with the participation of 20 groups from different provinces around the country. Hip-Hop a la Plaza is a Ministry of Culture (MINC in Spanish) initiative that aims to create an open forum for the characteristic diversity of Hip Hop culture, including its three artistic components: Music, Dance and Graffiti. The winning groups will receive cash prizes in their categories: Hip Hop (New Style): $ 75,000; $50,000 and $ 30,000 pesos for first, second and third place winners, respectively.
