The Dominican National Commission for UNESCO (CNDU for its acronym in Spanish) is pleased to announce the opening of calls for national, sub-regional, regional and/or inter-regional projects to be financed by UNESCO’s Participation Programfor the 2012-2013 biennium.


The CNDU will offer information sessions onthe submission of projects to the Participation Program on Tuesday, January 17 at 10:00 a.m.atCNDU’sconference room and on Thursday, January 19 in the conference room at the Pontificia Universidad Madre y Maestra in Santiago.


UNESCO’s Participation Program, which is accessible to all Members States and Associate Member States, provides financial resources to support activities that follow the priorities of the Organization’s Regular Program. This program aims to strengthen cooperation between UNESCOandits Member States and to make it more efficient thanks to the contributions of both parties.


The CNDU will offer information sessions onthe submission of projects to the Participation Program on Tuesday, January 17 at 10:00 a.m.atCNDU’sconference room and on Thursday, January 19 in the conference room at the Pontificia Universidad Madre y Maestra in Santiago.


We invite you to submit projects in which you are interestedto the Participation Program, provided that they have a close relationship with the priorities established in UNESCO’s Regular Program. UNESCO’s areas of competence are Education, Science, Social Sciences, Culture and Communication and Information.


The deadline for submitting national applications is February 17, 2012. All projects must be submitted using the attached form. The proposals that have been duly formulated shall be assessed by the Working Subcommittees of the National Commission, agencies that shall support the presentation to UNESCO of the best projects to be ultimately referred to the Organization, in response to apre-determined order of priorities.
