Participating from Germanywill berenowned saxophonist and songwriter Angelika Niescier, winner of multiple awards, including the 2010 ECHO JAZZ and the first “Improviser in Residence” of the city of Moers. Among her recent presentations are a tour in Egypt with the “German Women’s Jazz Orchestra,” as well as concerts in Zagreb (Croatia), Seoul (South Korea) and New York (United States). She will perform with the SublimQuartet, a group that includes prominent German musicians Florian Weber on piano, Sebastian Rätheron bass and Christoph Hillman on drums (http://www.angelika-niescier.de/esublim.html). Sublim comes directly from Haiti, where it will participate in the 6th version of Puerto Principe’s International Jazz Festival. Participating from the Dominican Republic will be renowned pianist and composer Ania Paz, winner of multiple awards, such as the Ministry of Culture’s José Reyes symphonic composition award. She has successfully participated in important international festivals, such as the TCI San Jose Jazz Festival in California (United States) and the International Jazz Festival in Lima (Peru). She will perform together with the Ania Paz Jazz Ensemble, a group that includesprominent Dominican musicians VirgilioFélizJunior on bass, Félix Cabral on drums and Juamy Fernández onpercussion (www.myspace.com/aniapaz, phone 809-223-4541).
