Cultural Development Program for Civil Society

Applications must be submitted before February 24, 2012 to the IDB offices in the 26 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.

This call invites civil society organizations to submit cultural projects to promote the restoration and preservation of cultural heritage, the recovery of traditions and artistic development that benefit individual and communal development, and sustainability.

The IDB Cultural Center may approve from $3,000 to $7,000 per project. Local organizations are responsible for providing the remainder of the resources and supporting the project on a sustainable basis.

The Program selects projects following the model of “trainers of trainers” due to its positive multiplier effect. Civil society organizations interested in participating should:

• specify the activity to be carried out
  
• explain how it will benefit the local community
  
• describe the anticipated results
