The National Symphony Orchestra will offer the concert “1812 Overture” in Fortaleza, Santo Domingo

OnWednesday, March 14, the Ministry of Culture will present the Great Symphonic Extravaganza”1812 Overture” by the immortal Russian composer Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky, tocommemoratethe 168 anniversary of our National Independence.

The performance will also feature a parade of cadets and a field artillery gun,and will include a fireworks show.

The National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro José Antonio Molina,and the Dominican Wind Orchestrawill perform the following musical pieces: “Fanfarre for the Common Man” by A. Copland, “Festive Overture” by D. Shostakovich, “Bolero” by M. Ravel, and “1812 Overture”, by P.I Tchaikovsky. The concert is free and will take place at the Santo Domingo Fortress at 8:30 pm.

The performance will also feature a parade of cadets and a field artillery gun, and will include a fireworks show.

This great concert, allegorical to our national holiday, is being organized by the Ministry of Culture with the objective of promoting our identity values through art and culture.
