Rudy D. Castillo, an emerging artist from San Francisco de Macorís, has found a great deal of support and has attracted attention from among the specialists and art critics such as the architect César Iván Feris Iglesias, president of the APEC Cultural Program and president of the Dominican Association of Art Critics; Marianne de Tolentino, Director of the National Gallery of Fine Arts and former president of the Dominican Association of Art Critics; Abil Peralta Agüero, cultural advisor to the Chamber of Deputies of the Dominican Republic and permanent advisor to the Dominican Association of Art Critics. In the show’s catalogue, Marianne de Tolentino said the young artist’s exhibition is: “Possessed by the saxophone and owner of each of its variations, whether sax, alto, bass or tenor, Rudy D. Castillo transports to another world of perception. He communicates with a special charm, an infinite, reiterating and changing magic, showing at once refinement, suggestiveness, exuberance and drama. In the end, it is joy and triumph as he configures his vibrant and baroque morphologies.” His upcoming one-man show has captured the attention of the experts because of its polished technique and radiant colors and light.
