Yesterday, the First Lady, Candida Montillade Medina, visited dozens of families left homeless in the communities of La Jeringa, Las Flores and Zona Verde of this Province, to offer them her support and solidarity. “I would like to convey a message of solidarity and support to the entire Dominican people, for the difficult situation we are experiencing following the passage of the Isaac Storm. This is the reason why I am announcing that, starting right now, I am fully joining the rescue operation, the relief effort and the work in support of the people that have been affected,” said CándidaMontilla de Medina. Montillade Medina toured the areas affected by the IsaacStorm, and talked with the survivors whose homes were destroyed by the floods of the NiguaRiver. The President’s wife delivered food rations to dozens of refugees at the School of Fine Arts of that province, while urging everyone, especially the mothers, to “take great care and pay close attention in terms of the cleanliness and care of their children, so that they can prevent infectious diseases.”
