Government Concludes Holiday Dinners and Parties in 155 Towns and Cities Around the Country

The administrator General of the State Economic Diners, Ramón Monchy Rodríguez, congratulated the Dominican people for the excellent behavior they displayed at the holiday dinners and parties given by the Presidency of the Republic and this institution in 155 towns and cities across the country at a cost of 150 million pesos.

To carry out these popular holiday parties, the Economic Diners and Society for Authors Rights formalized an agreement to comply with Law 6500 for Authors Rights.

At the final dinner on Sunday December 30th held on Once del EnsancheBermúdez Street, Mr. Rodríguez told a group of over 5,000 people thatthe exemplary attitude of the people who attended the dinners and parties left nothing to lament as they enjoyed the meals at various places around the country where the Economic Diners were offered. He praised the team that worked at the Diners and especially the employees of the Mobile Kitchens who sacrificed time away from their own families in order to put on a traditional Dominican meal for those in need.

More than 750,000 Dominicans, Rodríguez said, enjoyed the holidays in an atmosphere of national warmth and joy thanks to the initiative of the Dominican President. “Without a doubt, PresidentDanilo Medina has inspired sufficient confidence and credibility among the people and they have responded with patience and affection in all ways. For that reason we celebrate this attitude of massive and orderly response on the part of each one of the Dominicans who enjoyed these holiday meals and parties.”

The schedule developed for the Economic Diners began on Thursday December 20th and ended on the 30th in all municipalities of the North, South, East and Central Cibao regions, spreading the joy with musical groups like the Rosario Sisters, Sergio Vagras, Kinito Méndez, Peña Suazo and the Gorda Banda,Toño Rosario, Omega el Fuerte, Chaval de la Bachata, Vickiana, Sexapeal, in addition to Reggaeton singers such as El LápizConsciente, Mozart La Para and the typical music of Jovanny Polanco.

To add the final touch, the Economic Diners also participated in the New Year’s activity organized by the Telemicro Group in the Malecónof Santo Domingo with the distribution of more than 15,000 hot meals through the Mobile Kitchen Program organized for the holidays.

To carry out these popular holiday parties, the Economic Diners and Society for Authors Rights formalized an agreement to comply with Law 6500 for Authors Rights, wherein the norms and regulations covering the rights of authors are taken into consideration while guaranteeing that the composer should receive 7% of the amount of money collected at any outdoor event where his/her music is played.
