Ministry of Labor Gives Workshops to Communications Directors and Press People

The Ministry of Labor gave a workshop to directors of communications in government institutions and to journalists with the objective of promoting fundamental labor rights through the media.

Labor Minister, Maritza Hernández who headed the activity, explained that the workshop seeks to given communicators basic tools to be able to adequately deal with labor issues.

Minister Hernández said that media workers and journalists who form opinion should be well versed on labor rights and should also be knowledgeable about how to share this information with Dominican society.

The meeting was held under the auspices of the International Labor Organization, represented by Miriam Lopez, and the Verification Project of Central America in the country.

In her role as facilitator, Patricia Solano encouraged the directors of communication to put together an effective plan that would enable them to confront moments of crisis in their respective institutions.
