Ministry of Culture Promotes Dominican Identity as a Fundamental Goal and Issue

Culture Minister, José Antonio Rodríguez, congratulated the members of his cabinet for placing the issue of Dominican identity as a standard and a priority issueof the ministry.

He recalled the memory of the late Dominican cartoonist Harold Priego, whose work skillfully focused on Dominican identity in his contributions to the Ministry as well as the nation.

He added that the work being done by his staff has served to firm up important economic agreements with the government.

Minister Rodríguez made these statements at the opening of the “General Guidelines of Cultural Policy 2013” meeting, held in the Ramón Oviedo Hall.

He recalled the memory of the late Dominican cartoonist Harold Priego, whose work skillfully focused on Dominican identity in his contributions to the Ministry as well as the nation.

The main objective of the meeting was to analyze the general guidelines of the deputy ministries of Creativity and Popular Participation, under the direction of Mirtha Olivares; Institutional Development,under Carlos Santos and Cultural Heritage under the direction of Edda Grullón.
